Modelling as a role.
As I told a friend over text. The waiting room for the psychologist is a subject for a lot of writing for so many reasons.
We’d been sitting there for a couple of hours already. People had come and gone. All of the personel said Hi when they passed. We’d become a part of the building from sitting there.
All of a sudden, a boy takes his seat very carefully in the sofa besides the one I’m seated in. I give him a smile and continue reading my book. He blushes. I notice the way he’s seated is quite unnatural for a boy his age. His legs crossed, a fairly straight back and his hands in a unnusual position on his lap. He looks like he’s holding something in front of him but with his palms empty.
I realise he’s mimicing me.
With that theory, there’s one way to find out whether or not it’s true. I change position, pulling my legs apart and leaning forward. Almost holding my breath, I wait for him to do the same. And eventually he does. I can’t do anything but smile at the cuteness. I try something else by standing up to stretch my back, still seemingly unknowing of the boy. He gets up, giggle, and run down the hall.
Let this just serve as a small reminder that all the little things we do are possible to take after. Be a role model for those who you want to lead! ❤
