Get out through the door.
One of the best tips I’ve ever given is to get out through the door. Get out in to the world, but more importantly: get out of your own space. It’s been crucial for my productivity.
I’ve had days spent in my apartment that have been productive. I’ve had far more days spent in my own or someone else office that have been productive. I’ve also had far more days spent at home with the intention of being productive, which have turned out with me doing something completely else.
That’s why I’ve developed a habit of bugging out every day, to the extent that I can. Each day, I try to get out through the door fairly early, prepping my backpack with everything I might need throughout the day, and staying away from home until as late as necessary.
It gives me peace at home, as well as a focus at wherever I am at the moment. It’s soothing to know that I’m going to stay out until I get whatever I want to get done, done. And I actually tend to get it done if I’m not at home.
